O

Octopus

So I've wondered about the impartiality of the BBC for a while and things do seem a little odd:

This is a photo of an article in yesterday's Sunday Times:

[ElectriciansForums.net] The once great BBC......................

And then there is this too:

Words fail me.

Surely it's well known media in all its forms serves the powers that be. Journalists merely tow the party line. There is no truth via media. In fact if you are told It is such and such, you know for a fact the opposite is true. Apparatchiks everyone of them.

. . . . And only 30% fulfilled so far
Great place to start if anyone cares to look!

If you're happy to let a right wing foreign owned paper and an ultra right activist group who's trying to get a democratically elected mayor sacked, form your opinions for you, then I'm sorry for you.

Did I comment on the content - no

I just think that the audience is not as "random" as you may think - which isn't appropriate for a National Broadcasting organisation.

Have you applied to be in the audience for Question Time or similar?

No Murdoch, I've never applied.
All the time that people from both sides of the political spectrum complain about BBC bias I think they've got it about right.
At the moment it's the left who are complaining the loudest about bias coverage of the election.

Not using the Twitter link to make a point as to BBC bias one way or another, just to illustrate the wide ranging feeling of bias. As I say the left seem most peeved at the moment. I typed #bbcbias.

How can the BBC or any TV station be impartial? How can you ensure an audience is balanced? Ask all that apply how they vote? what their views are? what if they lie? How much time and money do you spend on investigating each person in an audience of hundreds?

No you do your best and hope it works out eventually. So yes of course you can find the odd aberration. But that doesn't imply bias just humans at work.

Well... the BBC in the clip can be accused of loading the dice by inviting specific people into an audience.

I was in the audience of QT many years ago..... lets just say when we went into the seating area they were very careful who was placed in the "centre" of the audience ..... then the white people were around the edges...

As for bias on the BBC .... well they only ever seem to present a single point of view, whilst ITV seem to offer different interpretations....

I've just applied for the QT this week.... I decided to imply differences to "me" to see if I get selected..

You won't even know then Murdoch. One test doesn't prove anything. only if you repeated it multiple times could anything be drawn from the results.

It's from London this week. So unless you're a Londoner you'll be disappointed again. No matter what you tell them in your application.

The one I went to was in London - Stratford if my memory serves me correctly.... but when it was recorded in Woking I couldn't get a ticket....

Staunch socialist opinion off me

The chances of the same character being given air time to give his view (on a number of occasions) on a platform that is extremely difficult to gain access for the most dedicated of ordinary folk,it stinks of manipulation

Whatever the views expressed,it is very wrong, someone at the BBC should be made to answer this question of how this man has managed to appear so frequently
