Just took it... Been going round the bend trying to decide if it's the right thing or not just yet but i've handed my notice in this morning and as I have two weeks holiday left I work my last ever shift tomorrow night.

Self employment here we come..

Bricking it now!

Been doing building maintenance for about 8 months in my time off. Needed to free some time up to get some work in with a couple of sparks i know as well

Well done, good luck and I hope you have a back up of cash to tide you over!
Best wishes for a profitable and enjoyable venture.

I appreciate that, thank you. unfortunately I don't have a back up of cash! Just a determination to do whatever it takes and work as hard as I have to to make it work out

Do not worry too much, make sure you have everything you need in place to allow you to do a good job, and go for it, what else can you do.:gunsmilie:
Do good work and you will be remembered and hopefully rewarded.
We are all still here if you have any worries or problems.

I should be on here a bit more now hopefully, haven't had much time for the electrical work lately but I'll hopefully be able to get stuck into it a bit now

That takes some balls mate!.....well done for taking that step, good luck! im sure you wont need it though.

Well good luck to you, sometimes the grass isn't greener on the otherside, I hope it is for you.

SO today is the first day of the rest of your life, welcome to the wild and uncertain world of self employment, good bits, bad bits, all sorts, hope the good outweighs the bad and you have lots of customers.

Clocked out at 6:03 this morning then went and handed my fob back in and left. Back up at 10:00 and raring to go! I'm 100% it's the right thing for me and the family. I will find it hard to make the same money for a while but there's more to life

you'll find it gets easier in the future, as more and more geordies convert their lights from gas to that new-fangled electrickery. :smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5:

Hahaha! I'm working at Cheshire oaks tomorrow night actually so I best get my hub caps welded on tonight for the drive past your neck of the woods [emoji3]

Right then Penny firstly Congratulations and good luck, but secondly I must have misunderstood things I thought you were a Trainee so therefore still learning, I am presuming I'm wrong and that you are a qualified and experienced electrician that has just been cards in up to now.
Again this is not me being negative .

No mate I'm a trainee that's doing the 2365 at college but I've set a building maintenance company up and I'm doing handyman type maintenance stuff. Ideally I will start doing the electrical work myself as well but at the minute I sub that out

Ok mate, like I said i thought you were a trainee, thanks for clearing that up for me.

dont panic.jpg..
Dont put me off man, its only my first day!

PM sent, not sure its a good idea to post it? i suppose its not a public forum but you never know!
Well done, and yes I have replied, always here to help trainees, we all like to help them here, you are a protected spieces, we don't give trainees a hard time and rightly so, good luck fella.

First day off since I started this thread today (unless college every Wednesday counts!) Invoices, ordering some bits, 4 quotes and a chocolate melting tank to repair as well like but I'm loving it

Juts been making a brew and remebered i need to do Risk assessments and method statements for tomorrow night, a few emails in regard to this... My bathroom tap is leaking and theres a few light bulbs need changing in the house.

The van needs a good sort out as its a **** tip! i have a load of scrap in the back garden i have accumulated that needs weighed in as im getting grief from the wife and also need to fix an oil leak on the van as its dripping all over the drive.

I love days off!!
