Our decision last year to focus on new build and major refurb is paying off..

Architect (that we worked with on 3 refurb projects last year) on the phone today asking us to work with them and a small developer to install 50 in-roof systems as they only way they can get the planning permission condition removed now is to include renewables :) Shame, they've all go to be done by the end of 2016 :)

Guess we'll have to pay our MCS subs again this year (no need for RECC though :) )
HIES seems to work out far far more expensive than RECC / Ecosure though I guess if you were into double galzing and external wall / cavity wall insulation they'd be your first choice :)

And that requirement was one of Eric Pickles' legacies - to get the Deregulation of Local Government Act of 2015 through.

I hate to say it, I miss the LibDems!

We are with RECC & Ecosure as well. I've never had a problem with either and never considered switching to HIES.

Interesting to view the list of HIES members. It really reads like a rogues' gallery with lots of companies who've been in trouble with RECC switching across: https://hies.jobreg.org.uk/hies_member_index

I'm not sure if the list is up-to-date but there are less than 100 companies listed which doesn't strike me as very many.

Still here, busy catching up on solar thermal maintenance contract for social housing provider. Got a 4kW to do in February, and other ST to look at as well as exploring other new areas, some building and maintenance related.

I really feel for you guys after being involved (employed) within your industry for the past 4-5 months. Wish you all the best of luck for 2016 and beyond.

Waiting on sign-off on a contract to retrofit 30 battery storage systems and data logging on social housing with PV. Whilst it doesn't make sense economicaly or environmentaly we are happy to install, data log and report this :>

@t4sltd - which / whose battery storage units? What capacity? thx

Installing a variety of systems for comparison reasons; probably Moixa, Powervault and Growatt (for cost reasons so all pretty small i.e. 2kWh).
