Greg:

Reference is commonly made to ceiling roses and to their (feed) loops in and (feeding) loops out to subsequent roses. I assumed that the term was applied to roses and battens because of their provision of additional termination points (three in a bar). Should have picked up earlier that loop in loop out is also applied to junction boxes but typically just when used in lighting.

What's the advised use of loop in/loop out terminologies in relation to other forms of radial circuit?

And, out of interest, how would terminologies be applied if you found a lighting circuit wired in a ring?
Out? On? Something else? Or, at this point, should the terminology be dropped altogether.

The term is usually only used when referring to conventional lighting circuits, ring circuits usually attract terms such as 'leg'.

Are you a member of ELECSA and the NICEIC as per your website?

Thanks IQ.

I work with ELECSA registered electricians and my personal registration is going through.

At the moment though I've got too much time on my hands so I'm learning what I can.

Probably best to remove the NICEIC reference from your website then as it's your OWN registration that matters here.

We have to pay hundreds of pounds a year for memberships of NICEIC, CHAS etc. etc. and what you're advertising there could give you a nice feature here:NICEC | Householder | Wall of Shame

You're right.

I'd mentioned "electrical work conducted by Elecsa / NICEIC approved engineers". Should have said "with" will make that change and will remove the NICEIC ref. immediately.

Customers that I've contacted have always been fully aware of the situation though.

treading think ice mentioning any reference to a scheme membership mate... nic or elecsa...! including using subbys as elecsa contractors as you are implying that Lewes electrical are registered..!

Thanks Durham, I've just phoned Elecsa and they also confirmed what you said.

I had considered that it was taking a while for the site to gain a search engine rank and didn't consider that people would get much chance to see the content until my registration had gone through.

I'm also lucky enough to be able to work with a couple of very compitant ELECSA registered electricians. To keep options covered I also found possibility of working with a NICEIC guy.

Clearly that's not good enough for the regs bodies. Lesson learned
