Guys
First time at Alton Towers, aged 32... where have I been?
During queuing took an interest in the workings of the rides. Spotted the familiar blue of SICK sensors, the orange of IFM and green of P&F.
Also noticed a couple of familiar HMIs.
So on noticing these run-of-the-mill devices from my day job lead me to thinking these ride machines can't be too far in technology than our production machines in terms of technology. These rides must be controlled by PLCs and drives with a greater degree of people safety: granted.
Has anyone any info on ride controls, or indeed any experience of the technology of theme parks?
Thanks in advance

Yeah... well... didn't expect you lot of bore-joysies to be interested in scary stuff.
Bunch of pansies!
