Four computers on a group of back to back desks
Crawl about on the floor cut cable ties and remove the pc 1 lead from 4 way extension lead

Crawl about on the floor cut cable ties and remove the monitor4 lead from 4 way extension lead
disconnect the 2 * 4 way extension leads
Avoid the hand bags boots high heels and lwaste paper bins
Bash your heed a few times on sharp corners n screws under the desks just for the fun .
Loose the last bits of carilege in your knee caps trying to get the 4way plug oot the wall .
check each of these leads fuses are the correct rating--probably change third of these to correct rating.
Examine the leads for kinks breaks nicks other misc damage ,check the leads at 25a

Advise them that the 3kw electric fire thats keeping there feet toasty which some one fetched in from the hoose with a dodgy plug on it should really be plugged straight into a wall socket and not a 4 way extension the office manager got free when he filled up with petrol and at same time recommend that these 4ways whilst just ok really should be replaced by a quality item.write these remarks down for your final printed report.

All at 100mA
REConnect the customers leads 100% tidier than they were routing them safely.
So far you have done 8 lead test,8 appliance tests,2 ext lds and probably found several class2 phone chargers that are nowt to do with the site but should be tested so lets say another 2.

20 tests min for a bank of 4pc's
Its cost so far 20 stickers at say 10p= £2.00
its cost say 4 fuses at 12p= £0.48
its cost say 1 plug at 80p = £0.80
its cost say 1 uee 5a pc ld 99p= £0.99 coz one ld had a nick in the insulation ,better safe.
Assuming this is being done when the office is shut and they are not trying to keep working on there equipment ...oh the joys ...come back in half an hour ...oh laters...

it would have taken me i am guessing the best part of two hours at which point the office manager comes back and says the last lad had the whole office done by this time ....

so for my 2hrs its cost me

£5.07 in bits
£5,00 absolute min to come to the job in fuel
£3.00 for lunch/dinner/supper which ever the case may be.

£13 say luck for some...

20 tests at 75p= £1500

WOW i have made a £1 an hour , sorry 75p after tax

Which in reality will be even less because these tests will need downloading ,printing off into a pretty folder which will probably take the best part of an hour. Then postage back to the site ..

Easier just throwing your moneyaway than to do pat testing for them at 75p /test ???

which payment they might decide to give you after the usual three month period...

All that stuff could be classed as a bad day at the office, but what about the good days when everything is in front of you and no scrambling around under tables etc etc.

I have recently started work for a firm (dare not mention them on here) and can comfortably check around 150 - 200 appliances daily, this depends on accesability to appliances and cables and plugs and yes crawling under desks is not very nice but it doesn't take me 5 mins to check appliances,

Reading all this stuff i must be doing stuff wrong but everything i do i was taught on my Pat Testing course
