I did! Yesterday….. Trod on one. My first ever!

I took a 4 way adaptor with us on holiday so the girls could charge their devices all at once… not a lot of sockets in the caravan.
Unpacked when we got home and left some bits on the floor to tidy away later.

No shoes either.

Ouch...

You're lucky you didn't put a hole through the top of the caravan roof, I've only ever trod on one once and still believe I hold the world record for jumping over 30ft from the standing position.

My partner unplugs the iron after each use, great and sensible. However, the iron is left sitting on the ironing board with the lead draping down and the plug lying on the floor in the bedroom. Much to my pain and anguish as I, on many occasion, walked past it in the dark bare foot... you all know the story.

I swear she does it on purpose!

Maybe you suggest to her she does the ironing when you're in bed or at work?

Quite good, albeit with a few technical slips, especially about the significance of earthing. His explanation about the need for a fuse in every plug narrowly missed the specific point that the rating of the circuit protection is higher than that of the plug. The ring-vs.-radial aspect is related but not the crux of it. Also the fact that different fuse ratings are available. It's a pity he didn't show a top quality plug with a proper saddle cable clamp, nor compare it with a moulded plug. He seemed to imply that we don't have moulded plugs.

Some would say that not having a compatible slimline 2-pin version of the plug compatible with 3-pin sockets is a significant disadvantage compared to US / NEMA derived systems, but he didn't draw attention to this. Globally, the other main players are the European systems and derivatives with 19mm in centres which all have the 2-pin option, while BS1363, BS546-derived systems such as in India and SA don't, nor do Australia and their derivative systems including China. Historically we did have 2-pin plugs in the UK but they weren't compatible with the corresponding sizes of 3-pin socket. That would surely have been laughable to overseas visitors.

On another note would you know anything about the CTEK D20SE

They say it has a built in MPPT but I was going to put a separate one in anyway with the solar panels incase I exceed voltage in some way from the solar.

Don't want to blow my batteries up.
