Ok lets get back on topic and analyze this without the burden of trying to be scientifically exact because science is inherently not an exact science. Development costs would be linked to inflation and the retail prices index. £1 in 2015 will have the same buying power as £8 in 2018. So we can ignore the financial impact of construction. We’ll go with a little analogy based on the principle. The 1[SUP]
st[/SUP] axiom is that the speed of technological advancement doubles every 12 months.
So for example:
1: Today’s processor running at 1Ghz will in a years time run at 2Ghz, and the year after at 4Ghz, and the year after at 8Ghz, and the year after at 16Ghz,
and so on.
2: Today’s broadband speed running at 1Mb/s will in a years time run at 2Mb/s, and the year after at 4Mb/s, and the year after at 8Mb/s, and the year after at 16Mb/s, and so on.
3: The energy density of fuel at 1kg/cubic metre today will in a years time be 2kg/cubic metre, and the year after be 4kg/cubic metre, and the year after be 8kg/cubic metre, and the year after be 16kg/cubic metre, and so on.
I think you all get the idea!
Now then…..If you build an anti-gravity drive (Mark 1) and travel to Saturn and you leave at the beginning of 2015 and it takes you 10 years to get there, then you will arrive at the end of 2024. Someone else then takes your idea and builds an improved anti-gravity drive (Mark 2) and travels to Saturn and they leave at the beginning of 2016 and it takes them 5 years to get there, then they will arrive at the end of 2020, stealing your glory. However, someone else took that idea and build an improved anti-gravity drive (Mark 3) and travelled to Saturn and they left at the beginning of 2017 and it took them 2.5 years to get there, they will have arrived mid 2019, thinking they have stolen everyone’s glory. Except there is a problem, someone else took their idea and build an improved anti-gravity drive (Mark 4) and travelled to Saturn and they left at the beginning of 2018 and it took them 1.25 years to get there, they will have arrived at the end of March 2019, and have stolen everyone’s glory.
But the moral of the story is, If your going to build an anti-gravity drive then wait until 2025 and make it a Mark 10, build it in 5 weeks (this is the timescale of all things magical) and arrive at Saturn before you leave earth.….pml
And I can’t believe no one has mentioned the washing machine in that first video and the location of it’s socket in the bathroom. Not even a single question about whether the pushbike has RCD protection or what it’s earthing arrangements are. You guys and girls are seriously slacking!
