How did this bunch manage to get to be top of the tree for tickets for any event?
after getting as far as the terms page and the website freezing up twice I gave up in my fruitless search in tickets for ac/dc at Hampden.
5 other people I know wanting tickets never got through either.
and lo go to their "reseller" site and there is plenty of tickets at twice face value....... Basically scalped their own ****in tickets.
words fail me at how shoddy they are but I'll try...
bunch of James hunts would be a start.

Ticketmaster and other similar outfits are what puts me off buying tickets for anything these days as their handling charges appear to be excessive whatever happened to buying tickets at face value from the box office these legalised ticket touts seem to have the market stitched up for their benefit

I totally agree, why can't you just by a ticket for what it is worth . Shirley the profit should be included the tick price to start with.

...whatever happened to buying tickets at face value from the box office...

Promoters sell tickets, not the venues anymore. The venue may also be able to sell an apportionment, but if you've got a big name act just announced a 50 stop world tour then you can't expect people to drive 100 miles to a venue and wait in line along with 100,000 others for 20,000 seats.

I travelled to London on Thursday to see The Who, ticket cost ÂŁ80 travel cost ÂŁ42 plus a day off work. When I got to the O2 I found out that the concert was cancelled. In this day and age of instant communication why couldn't they send an email. I found out that the night before was also cancelled.

Since buying the tickets I get a newsletter every week advertising future shows. assholes.

I'll have to find out about that one, hadn't heard (will let you know) but if you paid via CC then you'll be alright for full reimbursement. Again, it's the difference in roles between the promoter, the agents, the venues and where the contractual boundaries lie. I'm not saying its right - it isn't, it stinks - but as someone who has also been a manager/promoter (for a couple of names that you would know, btw) for a brief and disastrous period, I have first hand knowledge of how complex it is.

Roger Daltry was ill, there was a big press release as soon as it became known and your ticket is still valid to the postponed date next year. But, yes, I really can't see why you couldn't/shouldn't have got an email from T M.

THE WHO POSTPONE O2 ARENA SHOWS - The Who

Not TM in this instance, bit of a thread hijack by myself, sorry OP, it was AXS. My ticket will be legit for the rescheduled date but if means another day off work plus travel costs again
