hi all'
witch way to go can anyone help,
contenplating timber frame or block build,
Ive been in building trades all my life and now retiered,ha ha have planning permission to build a house, never had anything to do with timber frame before, need to way things up as to witch way to go.
As to services,
with an electrical installation in a timber frame how are cables run in external walls ie socket to socket, are they in conduiet in centre of timber verticals or notched and run in a safe zone behind plaster board.do all sockets and switches need extra nogins for mouting.tv and bt cables are they also in conduit, many thanks in advance.

hi
i work on building sites with timber framed houses , they are usually used to be enviromentally and cost friendly aparently, with regard to wiring them its just a case of drilling the timer and runing the cables then either use a nogging with a metal back box or fast fix once been plaster boarded up to you its a easy method to wire in my opinion.

yeah that sounds about right or you can use dry liners instead of the metal back boxs..
But if you thermally insulate the walls make sure you do the correct cable calculations to cope with the heating affect,,, if you want you can flexible conduit instead- up to you..;)
