Think it's time I brought myself a 'decent' punch down tool.

Any recommendations would be appreciated ? Been eyeing up both of these......

Thanks Sy

I've added punch down tool to the title mate. It should attract more members to it then. Its posted in the right forum I'd say, but it isn't as busy as the others so if it doesn't get replied to in 24hrs let me know and we will move it to tools.

For better connections I always try to use 'tool-less' keystone connectors wherever possible.

Get on eBay and purchase an ex-BT Issued one. I don't think they were commercially available but were sold en masse to BT/GPO. I've had a 1996 dated BT one since the early 2000s and recently bought a 1986 one as a gift for a colleague. 100% success rate and I've punched millions of cores with the .

They're set apart from the rest as they're manufactured by Krone - the people who manufactured/I believe invented IDC terminals

All the genuine BT ones have the the BT logo and a date on them

The Krone tools are the industry standard used throughout the world. There's several variations where some are like a swiss army knife with hook tools and other gizmos but I've always used the basic version and it's always worked well.
