Hi all , I have been asked to change a D/board in a house with TNS earthing . It looks like the earth cable is soldered to the lead sheathing it is hard to tell as it is covered in some sort of black tape or something , there is about 2/3 inches of earth sticking out of the end of the cable it looks to be 16mm with a brass connecter and new earth cable going to the old board ,as the new board will be slightly further away can I just disconnect the newer earth and put a longer peace in . Thanks .
