hi lads is this tns or tncs, not sure if neutral is same conductor as the earth

That's a real crap termination!! But a close up look would say that it is indeed a TN-S earth you have there. You can just see the concentric earth wires/cores being gathered at the back of the cable!!

Looks like a concentric TN-S to me. I know we complain of the practical skills being diluted, but heaven help us, this example seems to suggest we've finally hit pure water! Please tell me that heap of crap of a termination is at the end of a cowboy's sub-main and not supposed to be the DNO's head. Oh hell! I fear the reply is the later, as I've just spotted a DNO warning label off to right of the picture.

Yes, it does appear to be TN-S, although I agree with trev1, a picture showing the cable just below what we can see in the OP picture would be useful.

There's usually a square cover that fits over the bottom of the fuse carriers to hide all that. Don't think they'd be too happy about the single insulated cores being visible.
