Have rewired an empty house as its been refurbished throughout, on testing ZE is 1ohm its a TNS and got a ****e earth clamp round main incomin cable needs a new earth sweating on etc. the supplier is BG the dno is western power so ive called dno with MPAN number to hand to notify and as the site is locked up till monday ive got to call back they will put it in as an emergency and go and rectify straight away.
if i called BG they would have said either,, why you phoning us OR your problem fit an earth electrode. so its best to ring dno i say.(hopefully monday will be a result)

My bet is that they will just PME it. I have had DNO's out to loads of these over the years, and that is what they usually do.

yeh will do!! can they change a tns then to pme with just a block without it affecting transformer.

whats wrong with a low TNS?.... it may be at the supply end....may be at the service head end.....we had one the other day 335 ohms on a TNS....nowt to do with the service head....it was back at the supply end....soon sorted...now its 0.07 Ze...thats still TNS so whats wrong with that?
