Just got my copy of Guidance Note 7 - Special Locations.

In it is a flow diagram that shows the typical decision-making process to bond or not!

Nothing about TL inverters or TNCS/TNS/TT

Its also got a decision making flow diagram for choosing RCDs. I'll post that later!
 
Seems sensible. Unfortunately that means I bonded unnecessarily on my last (and only) install because I followed the DTI guide decision tree!
 
now what guide do I use ...................the DTi written by god knows and over seen by the secretary to the minister of blah blah blah or GN 7 written by the organisation that as overseen the electrical industry for well over 100 yrs ............... answers on a post card ............

As I have always pointed out these belt and braces approach to things ARE DANGEROUS and luckily the IET still believes that decisions on design install should be left to the designer .................but unfortunately in the domestic sphere there are very few designers left.
