Been having this discussion with a few of my mates(all Domestic sparks). How many off you still cap cables ? i tend to cap if the plasterer is just patching but dont bother if its "Dot and Dab".One of my mates never bothers the other one caps all the time????????

Always cap, you only need the plasterer to slip, cut your cable, not tell you..... Then you spend ages messing about trying to sort it

All the time with me mate.

This is a method I have yet to see used in northern ireland, all the block walls are tracked /chased and the cables installed in 20mm round pvc conduit, I'm sure building control in the mainland would not allow the block walls to be chased so I'm assuming that's why yous use capping?

You can but you can only go a certain depth into the brick/block before it is said to compromise the load bearing of the brick/block

asking a plasterer to be careful around cables is like asking the tide to stay out, or getting a rottweiler to let go of a bone.
