To late to postpone.......

P

Today was the last day I could postpone my domestic installer assesment with the niceic,

Automatically I have started to panic!

I know all about zones in bathrooms
Special locations
Supplementary bonding
Ip ratings for board
Were I can run cables I.e horizontal or vertical from points or 150mm perimeters
Tail sizes
Earth sizes
Can rewire a house to bs7671
Hold my 2392 for testing

I have obviously missed stuff of here but is there anything in particular they will look for from me?

Just remember anything that you are unsure of you can look it up in the osg or brb. It's not an exam it's an assessment they are not there to trick you so use your books.

they will look at your work, and if its ok,ask you some questions from the regs, and maybe ask you how to do certain tests, take your money, then make you sweat.

no need to panic

he will be looking at the certificate you have done and as long the readings/results reflect the condition this will be fine.
fold down page 49 in regs book.

make a folder up of all your paperwork public liabilty etc

5 posts all in one minute!

Before site visit - tea and biccies.

I also find it a great help to have books and paper work lined up in order for inspection - saves looking silly hunting through everything.

The last two years (different assessors) I have been asked to do RFC test - as I said in another post their top priority is safety - so test for dead, remove line first, replace last.

Also had to do RCD test and was asked the maximum times at x1 and x5 - also in another post.

drill joists between 0.25 and 0.40 of the span. ELV cables 6"" spacing from LV. holes should not be closer to each other than 1.5 x the dia. of each hole.
