Went to visit a home owner last night who is selling house, the buyers solicitor has asked for all certs including part 'P' etc, but the owner doen't have one for a new shower install. Visit shows main earth undersized, bonding to water undersized, no water bonding, no RCD protection & oh no certificate. Naughty, naughty.
Tonight, through same contact, I have visited the home of the buyers solicitor who was looking for lecky at the time so.....Husband(unqualified DIYer) is in the process of rewiring house & wants to know if what he's done is ok & could I fit a board!
Am I misssing something? Please tell me why I'm shelling out £500 each year & apart from a van sticker what I get?

Saw a bloody funny commercial on Ch5 tonight...............scene taken from blazing saddles where they are all sitting round the camp fire eating beans..........and farting.................caption "Cowboys and gas dont mix" This was done by Gas Safe....................where are the elec ones!!!

Im still deciding between NAPIT and NICEIC!!!!!

Don't forget that, unlike Gas,there is no actual "law" preventing DIYers from fiddling with their own electrics! Until there is then we will be stuck with this farce.

Yup, they have that advantage, but it dosent stop the bodies geting together and producing a united front safety style advert insisting on certified work.............Im I just being sensible..........

Do a full PIR, then board fit, and any remedial work...should get back the £500 you shelled out.
