Morning all, plumber needs spur for toilet macerator, never done one before- what's the norm for this?! Any help much appreciated

Standard DP fused isolator is fine.

Check how much flex there is on the unit first before deciding where to site the plate!!

You don't need the isolator to be outside the bathroom. If it were me (assuming that all the other boxes have been ticked) then I'd find the nearest socket on the ring outside, run my spur cable to as close to the toilet as possible/practical, then make off into a DP fused switch.

Interesting one here, though, is that a toilet - being neither a basin, bath or shower - doesn't have a zone area to comply with!

The person that invents a macerator that can cope with a 'moist toilet tissue' is on a winner.

I ask you, what is so hard about chewing up a tissue???

WHY is that such a big deal. Its a tissue not a block if granite.

"oooo I could rip a tissue, peel a grape,etc"

Paper waste isn't a problem, nor per-se is even a tampon; the problem is with tampon STRINGS as they end up getting wrapped around the shaft. I used to have a sani-flo in a previous house, and at ÂŁ400 odd a time I got used to putting a clothes peg on my nose and wearing the marigolds to strip and clean the damn things down!! It was the true definition of a cr4p job.

Thats what I mean, rockingit, they 're not really up to it in their current design. Some bright......person will design the munching bit differently & make a mint. No one pays heed to a little sign next to the loo theyll check whatever in

True. Now that I come to think of it, how come we've got kitchen waste disposal units you can chuck bones and all sorts down, but we can't make a decent turd dispatcher?!
