Hi all

Quoted the following and customer turned around and said it was more than he was think it would've. The blokes doing the job back to front for a start and has the kitchen fitters fitting kitchen now before electrica are installed.

What he wanted was nothing above work top because he is a fussy so this is what I quoted:

Kitchen

Moving of cooker isolator to new position of oven. Isolator to be placed in cupboard under oven housing. Fitting of connection outlet plate below isolator
Oven cable to be joined in garage. Connection of oven to outlet plate.
Single socket to be installed under sink in cupboard for dishwasher.
Single socket to be installed for wine cooler in adjacent cupboard.
Switch fuse spur to be installed in cupboard under hob for igniter for hob.
Switch fuse spur to be installed in cupboard under hob for extraction hood.
Single socket to be installed for fridge in adjacent cupboard.
Moving of light switch to be placed with exciting switch to control pelmet lighting and two set of ceiling lights. Switch to be three gang in brushed chrome to match sockets above worktop.
3 x Changing of double socket face plates above worktop to brushed chrome.
3 x Connection of pelmet lighting and wiring of new pelmet lighting point in corner next to oven.
Total for proposed work £437.60

Kitchen lighting
8 x Brushed chrome LED fire rated down lights switch in two sets of four on three gang switch next to doorway.
Total for proposed work £363.60

Now I don't think this is over priced but what do you lot think?

looks pretty good to me. it's these punters that will pay £4000 for a kitchen made from plastic coated weetabix, but won't spend on the electrics.

Supply and fit? If so it's a bit good light mate
Some people want jobs doing for nowt and change when you're finished. Some you win, some you don't. Put it down to experience and move on because there's always Dave down the pub who does jobs like this for beer money.

Bloke phoned me today said it was a bit more than expected and he would have a think about it. Told him price was the price and if he changes his mind to give me a call. Looking if I would drop on price obviously.

Don't understand some people willing to pay a chippy 800-1000 to fit kitchen after he has bought it but won't pay the price for electrics, plumbing etc unreal.

sounds like it is around £1,200 ish plus the VAT to me, but I haven't seen the job so could be wrong, stick to your guns fella, your the professional, don't let him grind you down.

I'd leave that one be, to e honest it sounds like a nightmare. As for price, if that's supply and fit it does seem a bit light to me too.

Customers are people, and some people are ----ers, therefore ..............

Single socket to be installed under sink in cupboard.
.........in adjacent cupboard.
...........to be installed in cupboard
........to be installed in cupboard
...........in adjacent cupboard.

sounds like an awesome design by the customer !

I would say if he is getting kitchen fitted first then maybe he is not a customer you want. Sounds like the making of a nightmare job.
