Yep, Li-ion technology is good, lasts very well and no memory effect problems like the old ni-cad. Better than nimh IMHO as well, although my old 24V bosch is still using nimh (upgraded from the orig ni-cad (same charger)).

You going to be doing up your MCB/RCBO's with the impact driver :D
 
i have a hitachi 18v combi drill and a 14.4 impact driver both very good, very recommended brand by me id try and go with a 18v set if i was you mate worth spending the extra bit of money. Since having my hitachi impact driver I know id never be without one ever again, I think my impact are Ni-cd batteries but they are still really reliable
 
i know a lot of boys with lower voltage tools like the 10v impys and they say the same thing after using my 14.4 that they wished they spent the extra bit of cash, mine was free but if i bought mine i wouldve got an 18v, i use mine with a 1/2" adaptor and use it as my socket set too, great for metal munching better for your wrists
