I have had root surgery in the last day and my tooth is now throbbing, anyone pulled their own tooth before?

Get some Clove Oil from boots or Tescos....One dab on the tooth or gum, is like being back at the dentist. Numb for an hour...At my age, I keep a bottle handy...lol

I was absolutely fine with dentists until I was about 23, got a bit of toothache and my sister recommended a guy called Heward Mills. A massive black guy with hands like shovels.
The bugger nearly pulled my head off, ever since then dentists scare the crap out of me

Not bothered about going to the dentist....sit back quite relaxing.....just scared of the expense at the end of it.!!!

One tooth eh... i've got the muther of all colds, up in the sinuses, evey time I try to jump / jog / bump heac, every single bleeding tooth in my head screams

I know what your feeling mate
try to find a saline gel with aloe (rubbed just inside the nostrils)this will open up the sinuses and keep them from drying out
also a natural remedy is eating fresh horse-raddish the fumes may burn a bit but will drain them in a hurry

Cheers for the replies lads, murdoch, the dentist wanted 475 notes, I registered at my local genex NHS dentists, they charged ÂŁ50.50, I have to go back again in 2 weeks for the second part of the surgery, they drilled out the tooth and cleaned the roots this time and put a temporary filling in, next time I go they are going to go deeper and then put a permanent fill in.

I went to bed early last night because of the pain, after taking some anti-biotics and painkillers overnight the pain has eased a bit, I wish I had the tooth out now and may still do so to be honest, root surgery= flucking painful.

Cheers mate, I can't really chew anything at the moment, but if I am better later I know the wife is making sunday lunch and we normally have horseradish, I will have some, hopefully the tablets will help a bit.
