Hi,

i know now absolutely nothing about elect rivals or any diy for that matter.
This might sound like a really stupid question, but I bought a throw for my dogs & it covers a double plug socket that had two plugs in it that are permenantly on. Is it safe for the throw to cover the plug socket or could it set on fire????

Thanks you advice will really help

it would depend on the load drawn from the socket/s. treating the throw as insulation, it would have the effect of reducing the maximum current that the plugs and leads can safely carry without overheating.

Hi Flojo,

As above, it all depends on what is plugged into the socket. There shouldn't be a problem unless the items plugged in are something like room heaters or other high usage items.

Your dogs probably do not appreciate the scent at all as it will be overpowering to them, and with a cover over it the scent is probably pointless as it will not distribute. They also work on heating the unit to spread the scent, probably best to place this one elsewhere.
Other than that you should not have a problem.

Hi,

the he smell doesn't bother my dog at all, the throw only really covers the plug for the lamp, but would it still be ok if it covered the air freshener??

I'm with Richard on this one. What's the point in having an air freshener plug in then covering it up. It will not work as designed. I'm sure these air fresheners are not meant to be covered up as well. Just lace it somewhere else. If you are trying to use it to get rid of the smell from the dog throw then try using something like Febreze.
