Discuss TP&N sub feed in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

This 4 pole MCB would obviously be fusing the neutral too, considering all 3 phases and the neutral would disconnect at the same time does anyone see a problem with this?

Have you calculated the pscc? Will 10kA cover it?

Know what your thinking here, but there are standard sized (just a bit fatter) MCB's (1/2/3 and 4 pole) with breaking capacities of 25+ KA Not sure if Hager do them mind!!!

Schneider, ABB, Siemens, are the manufactures that i'm thinking about...

I've already purchased a 100a 4 pole hager MCB, 15kA, only problem being its a 4 pole MCB so the neutral will be fused if used in one of the poles, anyone see this as a problem? If this breaker disconnects, all the phases will be out

What if the neutral disconnects first? Is a four pole a good idea?

Is this 4 pole MCB protecting the sub main your putting in then?

Discrimination between your final and supply circuits should mean that this MCB will only let go if you have a fault on the supply to your new board.

I'd like to see that :conehead:
