Hi Guys,

Has anyone done the full domestic installers course that includes 2330 lev 2&3, Part P, 17th edition etc, all the way through to NVQ level 3 2356?

This course is self paced but with an expected duration of at least 24 months, with 9 weeks practical at the centre.

Would be really helpful to hear what people think of this course, and how well it prepared them for a career in the industry.

Thanks a lot
Jake

If I may correct your terminology. The 2330 is not a domestic installers course. It's the fully qualified electrician course. It includes training which will certify one to work in domestic, commercial and industrial.

It's prepares you with underpinning knowledge for the big wide world and to undertake your 2356. It's also the route you have to take to gain a JIB card.

Hi besim,

Thanks for the correction. I was mistaken, train 4 trade skills call the course 'electrical installer'. My bad.

I'm glad that my understanding of the certificates and progression is correct. The course offered by train 4 trade skills seems to offer everything.

Any feedback on this course?

Thanks
Jake

I think you will find when you read between the lines that they offer the domestic course and the theory units only for the 2330 (which is just reading material not the qualification). I don't think they actually deliver the final qualification.

I could be wrong but when you look at their breakdown of course it states C&G 2330 201 theory unit etc.... not 2330 and level 3 tech cert. Be very aware of this!!!

As I said this is only my knowledge, I haven't done their course and would put my hands up if someone could correct me.

They are also a marketing company who use another training centres, ATL I think, so you are not training at their centre.

I would also mention it would be a pointless excersise getting the fullscope part p and the 2330 as the 2330 covers domestic anyway. If you want to be an electrician just do the 2330 not the EAL2 fullscope.

Very interesting point besim, thanks for poionting that out, I'll definitely check with them and see what they say.

Just in theory though, if you got the 2356, would it matter if you didn't have the 2330?

Cheers

I dont think they can deliver that either, make sure you do very good research and don't take take the first answer for its face value.
