Hi everyone,
Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong section.
I work as a freelance musician and music teacher but have always enjoyed doing practical things (working on a farm/DIY etc). A small change in my job soon means that I will have some free time and, having thought lots about it, I think I would like to train as an electrician. My aim would be to carry on working in music but, in addition, to set up either as a sole trader, or a limited company, offering domestic electrical work.
So my questions are:
What training/quals do I need to do domestic work (part P etc)?
Is New Career Skills any good (they have a centre near me (Southampton) and on paper, they look good. My fear is that I will pass the course and then won't be able to work without doing an apprenticeship.
Any other help / advice would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Simon
