Training to be Electrician

Hi Guys,

Having completed a Domestic Installer course I have been working as an electricians mate for the past 6 months. I now want to fully qualify as an electrician, I am 25 so I'm thinking apprenticeships will be harder to get? Are colleges a good option? If so what course/qualification am I looking out for?

What are you current qualifications for domestic installer and with who? There will be a conversion route from your existing qualifications followed by an AM2.

Naively I did a course through a training centre, but it included Part P, 17th ed, some basic wiring and basic testing.

Is is there much difference between EAL and C&G?

will colleges only do the courses one evening/day a week?
