I have a Reebok treadmill it's about 11 years old. Was working fine until suddenly the belt stopped moving although the power was still on. I discovered that a 10 amp quick blow fuse had shattered on the circuit board. However when I replaced this the fuse kept blowing with a rather spectacular blue flash and this was also blowing the fuse in the plug. Would anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Unfortunately it is almost certainly the case that the power supply that is on the circuit board has had a serious fault with the bridge rectifier (square thing labelled D0-D3) or main switching transistor has shorted out.

A search might find someone who sells just the circuit board as it ought to be a simple cable-for-cable swap if it can be found.

Maybe this is the part, but not cheap so you will need to check:

At that sort of price it is probably worth looking on freecycle or craigslist, etc, to see if you can get another treadmill for less! Or another board supplier.

Thank you for your reply. Just going to have to ditch it really and seek out a new one. Repair would cost much more than its worth.
