What as 3 x 2 ways 3x 1 ways or a mixture of both, picture of the wiring and the old switch would be a help.

Same as the one it is replacing would be my guess. Make sure it is earthed.

These switches are notoriously difficult to wire-up properly - get an electrician to do it - he/she will know what to do!

Got a call to an RCD tripping yesterday......found a 2 way switch with one way wiring connected live-common.....switch-L1....Earth-L2. Maintenance guy denied all knowledge and claimed it's always been like that.
I suspect he's telling porkies.
