Buy Clampmeters MA400D-250 TRMS ammeter with sensor Chauvin Arnoux P01120576Z online from RS for next day delivery.

I was thinking about picking up a couple of these and wondered if anyone had an opinions or experience with them. They seemed to be reasonably priced and I do quite like the other Chauvin Arnoux testers I've got.

They're autoranging with a 4A, 40A and 400A scale, the lowest range can measure down to 1mA and has 1mA resolution so you could even use it as an earth leakage clamp meter. Bandwidth response is 10Hz to 3KHz so it won't be ideal for motor drives but I'm looking at a couple of these for general bench testing in a workshop environment.

Can't really say much about them, if you know Chauvin Arnoux seem OK, then I would say they were pretty reasonable.
The flexible loop seems interesting and not sure how easy it would be to get round a confined space but seems a useful idea other than that.
At the UK level of price I would be expecting something mid / high range for a dedicated ammeter and 1mA resolution can be useful.

Thanks Richard, I guess for UK conversion ZAR1800.00 would be around 110 quid depending on the day. Would there be better options available in that price bracket? Problem is we get charged premium prices here, usually about double what you could buy for in the UK. I've used the flexible type clamp meters before and they're okay by me.

I have had a search and cannot easily find dedicated current meters, they are all multi function, volts, amps, resistance, hertz, etc.
And for that type of meter £111 is fairly good, the cheapest I found down to 1mA was £51 and do not think it was TRMS, I bought a non TRMS clamp meter down to 1mA for £60, but that was very cheap and it shows! most of them are around £150-£250 (and up).
The flexi loop does not seem to be popular (except fluke) but I think it is a good idea.

Chauvin Arnoux test equipment can be considered on par with Megger and Fluke, and in some instance better!!

I have a few of their range and I like them a lot. I rate them better than the Megger or Fluke equivalents. I got an email saying it's been dispatched but I haven't received it yet unfortunately :(
