I am just starting out self employed doing mostly domestic work and need to get some terms and conditions sorted to go with quotes and invoices etc. I am a bit stuck as to what i should include.

Does any one have some example t & c's or know of where i can get some from that i can use in my paperwork.

I have also been asked to quote for some IT network cabling for a new start up company so i need to get this sorted pretty quickly.

Thanks in advance for any help / advice given.

one thing to remember specialy when doing Commercial works is the additional cost of hold ups and variance in cable pricing as when you quote till getting the job prices coulod rise considerably Good luck M8y

Hi acat
Not jumping on someone post would it be possible to have a copy of your t&c’s as I have just been screwed on a job out of town which hurts more and they would have been great but won’t get bitten twice
Much appreciated

Guys

I wrote a generic set of terms and conditions yesterday for another guy on the forum posting in another thread - hope they were OK Ty.

I am happy to supply a copy - I just don't want to post a link up in open forum and melt the board (pardon the pun, all).

PM me.

They are GENERIC, as I say. So you would need to (a) satisfy yourselves that they are fit for YOUR purpose, and (b) you might want to put a logo of some sort on them to identify them to your business.

MODS - can you sticky this somewhere? Thanks.

Another one jumping on the bandwagon - Bill you have mail.

To OP, you need to have your terms and conditions in the quote as by the time you get to invoicing it's too late for them to accept your terms. Good luck with your new venture.

The majority of quotes for materials from wholesalers or suppliers are good for 28 days. After that materials prices can vary. Make sure you include in your quotes a time limit.
