Has anyone got a filled in TPEC form they can show me? I just want to make sure I am filling them out correctly.
thanks

I have a sample version from viridian solar, filled in by the guy who created the form - drop me an email and I'll send it over.

I cracked it so that we could see what all the behind the scenes calcs where - a whold bunck=h of hidden fumrala and two hidden worksheets - what MCS don;t trust us to use it as is!!

2 things to note:
The spreadsheet is called final and it still has Draft written at the bottom :)
We got hauled up on our MCS audit last week on Solar Thermal for NOT including the MCS disclaimer on our print out of THAT SHEET that we gave to the customer!!!

They wanted to see us put that disclaimer on every sheet / document that has performance data on it.

Hence our cracked version now has the MCS disclaimer words in as a cell on the bottom and so prints it out

PM me :)

Nope they've password protected it all :)

With open/libre office?
Nope, I used to own a computer forensics firm way back ... :)

I saw that Draft note as well. I guess their Quality Management System isn't really up to scratch, better send in an ISO9001 auditor :)

A quick google whill show anyone interested how to unhide the two hidden sheets and bypass the passwords.

I had my annual assessment for x3 technologies last week. I showed the assessor a solar thermal installation I did to the then current MIS3001 v2.1a in the middle of last year. Installation and documentation all correct, but I am expecting a bunch of NCs. The reason: I have to demonstrate I can use MIS3001 v4 and TSPEC which were published on 16 Dec 13. So I am expecting to be asked to recast the documentation of that installation to meet the latest standard.

Seems a bit tough to be expected to meet a standard that did not exist at the time! The latest v4 was published on 16 Dec 13. The foreward to it says I MAY use it from 16 Dec 13 and that I MUST use from 16 Mar 14. Watching my email with bated breath. Don't you just love MCS assessors!

They are supposed to assess to CURRENT standards .. though we just had ours on x4 technologies... and I don't think he knew which standard he was assessing on :) - one was a contract let before 16th Dec, though we commissioned and handover docs to the new standard, one post 16th to new standard throughout, and the other two pre 16th Dec completely... I did explain BEFORE he started what we were doing and so he worked with it... - we had a few discussions along the way , - got me on the NC in that I hadn't notifed RECC of the new technologies (they have to find one don't they :) ), so I blasted RECC with EVERYTHING, that way I don;t have to tell them again - no charge just send an email to them with what technologies you want them to list!

My new 2014 RECC certificate does not show any technologies on it, although they are there on the website.

My assessor did get a bit confused by the newly revised assessment documentation given to him. It implied that under MIS3001 v4 the following requirements applied to all installations:
4.5.4 a
4.5.4 b i ii iii
4.5.4 c i ii iii iv
Whereas because of the preamble in 4.5.4, those requirements only apply when the solar volume is too small.

I am not sure what the intention of the MCS authors is, because for example the label requirement at 4.5.4 b iii could sensibly be applied to all installations, not just those with a small or no dedicated solar volume.
