hi guys im new to solar sytems but i am a recently qualified electrician. i am in oz working due to the lack of work back home.my question is as oz houses use a tt earthing system does this mean that the pv should have its own seperate tt system.has any body got some information that i could read up on this or even just general guidelines for solar systems.thanks

this is the latest draft of the DTI guide for PV installation - you shouldn't go too far wrong if you follow that, although it's a draft version so not as clear to read as it could be.

no, just connect the AC earth from the solar circuit to the MET as normal. One thing though, if they use a main RCD over there for TT, then you should really be careful about which inverter you use, and check the DC leakage currents as particularly some of the chinese models of TL inverters are feeding high levels of DC leakage current in to the AC side, which can result in the RCD sticking. SMA, Aurora etc should be ok as they restrict the DC leakage to lower levels.

thanks so much, i think that should answer all my questions or give me even more lol. i having got a chance to read it yet
