:smile5:Hi, does the installation of an TV point create a safe zone in the same way say a socket would? Just been to look at a job and seen a 2.5mm t+e running down a wall above a TV point and then turn to feed a socket. Never seen this before and it got me thinking whether this is allowed or not? There is acoax running all the way to the TV point alongside the t+e about 50mm apart. Thoughts?
Many thanks.

I wouldn't have thought that an aerial outlet plate is considered an electrical accessory as far as the regs go. It certainly isn't an elv or lv wiring point. But there again, you could create a prescribed zone by using a back box and a blank plate theoretically. PS, 'safe zone' is a bad choice of wording - they are the most un-safe zones if you think about it :) 'Prescribed zones' would be better. Daz

That's because of the filtering and switch mode power supplies. Measure the chassis and you'll probably find 100V or so at the connectors only the mains is connected to the box. Only a couple of mA, but enough to give a tingle. Daz
