Just been asked to install a Turkish light that is constructed using a conductive material. It was removed from a cafe in England and was in service however what I have discovered through telephone conversation only is that there are only two black wires going to the unit.

Is there a get around for installing such items ie simply finding a suitable place to fix the cpc? What about fitting units that do not have a BS rating?

This is a heavy item and additional reinforcement will be required before installation. I'm going around this evening to have a look at the job but just wanted a little feedback as I haven't encountered this situation before.

PS There will be no manufacturers instructions as it is second hand.

Thanks for any input offered.

Kind regards

There will probably be a method of earthing using some form of crimp tightened down onto the metal work somewhere.

Without seeing the actual fitting it's difficult to say.

Make sure you test your earth path though, to prove safety.

It will be your call as the trained expert.
