Hi,

It seems that you may have "lost" a neutral or live to the other lighting points in the house. Is it a 3 plate wiring lighting circuit, whereby the permanent lives, neutrals and earths are in the ceiling rose or light fitting that you may have removed and not put back correctly??

Seems that may be the case.
Hope this is of some, if little help.
Regards,
Sav

at each 3plate connection there should be IN, OUT & SWITCH cables. Sounds like the power is going in but not going out hence the rest of the house not working. Unless ive misunderstood you.

Best get the candles out lol :)

check fuse or fuse wire as this sounds like the only component disturbed, when refitting fuse, inrush current may have blown it and most houses have more than one lighting circuit which would explain some lights working and others not. Iif in doubt follow above advice and get a spark
