Hello!

I have no idea if I'm allowed to post anything as I'm not an electrician.. but I have a problem that I need help with and can't afford to call someone out!

I live in a house that was built in 2002 - I have 2 TV points in the living room, one works, one doesn't. I also have 2 TV points in my bedroom, neither of which work.. I was just wondering if anyone knew why this might be?!! Wasn't sure if it was just gammy wiring..

Thanks (and sorry if I'm not supposed to post in here)

I would regard your house as new build, i have found that the second fix of accesories can be a bit sloppy.

which basically means that the lads fitting the face plates cant be botherd connecting them up. in my house all the phone point cable had just been shoved in the back box.

first check behind the face to make sure its connected, then the loft to check its connected at the booster

unscrew plates and check behind you may find the other ends left loose in the loft or that the bedroom is fed from second living room point (ideal if you have Sky, not ideal if you dont)

I would add though that a typical good TT rod of 100 ohms only needs 3V to have 30mA flowing and so trip an RCD, you might find that sort of N-E...
