Is there an electrician out there who has fitted a two channel programmer on a domestic central heating/hot water thermal store called a Boilermate 2000? If there is could he/she tell me if one can purchase such a programmer that will fit where the standard single channel timer sits on the front of the Boilermate.
If there is such a programmer, what is the make and where can one be purchased please?

I've done all sorts of things to a boilermate 2000, mostly involving swearing at it.
The programmers should be available from the various online boiler parts suppliers or a local boiler parts shop.

A load of junk it may be, but my daughter has bought a house with one. My point is however, I can purchase any number of twin channel programmers but I would prefer to get one that will fit in the position where the existing timer clock sits. The only twin channel programmers the I can see on line seem to be rectangular rather than square like the existing timer.

The one you have already isn't twin channel. The boiler mate maintains its temp 24/7 and the box timer switches the room thermostat/CH pump on. You wont get a twin channel programmer to fit the hole and you will have to alter the wiring to make it work.

You can fit a 2 channel programmer externally to control both dhw and ch, but I think it would defeat the supposed energy saving of the unit.
For an external 2 channel programmer you use terminals:
20-neutral
21-live
22-dhw
23-ch

To replace the internal clock with the same unit the part numbers are:
Mechanical - XB215
Digital - XB216
Both manufactured by Grasslin but appear under the Gledhill brand

As you say, the existing timer is not twin channel. All it seems to do is time the central heating. It does not stop the boiler firing up at all hours to keep the store up to temperature. I understand a twin channel programmer would enable the whole caboodle to be shut off at night. I'm afraid I don't buy into that business of it being more efficient to keep it running 24/7 and anyway my daughter complains that the boiler noise wakes her up at night when it cuts in.
I know there are minor wiring alterations to be made to the internal connections but I was hoping to be able to avoid having to run new external wiring. Sounds as if I can't. Anyway, thank you all for your contributions.
