Hi guys,
Started a p.i.r today on an old small holding which used to be an active farm.
From the poll, there are three cables coming into the farm house, two of these are phases and the therd seems to be neutral.
One phase has the house consumer units and additions( its a six bed with 4 en suites) and is TT earthed.
The other phase has a seperate meter, into a 60amp switch fuse, and subs a cottage ( cow shed ) in the grounds of the property. This has 16mm tails from the meter to switch fuse, and the neutral tail , along with its earth cable is terminated into the therd cable coming from the overhead supply , connected TNC-S.
I am assuming that the contractor who did the instalation had spoken to D.N.O regarding TNC-S in the area as it is very remote area.
So , what do you think ? two seperate phases ? ...the supply cables are original and the same age
Hope i have made some sence ..J
By the way,, The cottage c.u. is 16th edition, and has a 100m/a rcd and enclosure next to the c.u. protecting the non 30m/a coversed circuits.
