quiet sunday, dinner in oven, just about to tidy up toolbag when PING!.. out trips one of the RCDs, taking out oven, kitchen sockets and downstairs lights. rest 3 MCBs, no problem, fault is on kitchen socket circuit. however, tapped off this circuit is a feed to a 3 way rewireable garage board (inherited problem, soon to be sorted). now, this feeds garage sockets ( 2 freezers, 1 fridge, boiler, outside lights and sockets). water leaking in garage roof in 2 places. her indoors panicking with no oven. qiuck IR test confirms low rerading on garage sockets. dissed and extension lead run to fridge and freezers. everything else up and running. proper fix on for tomorrow. beer stocks about to be depleted.

Its always a busmans holiday when you least expect it, id do a invoice for yourself for a callout and claim the Vat back if you can ;)... so charge yourself ÂŁ120inc' (it is a sunday)- put it through the books then claim your ÂŁ20 VAT back ;) lol... free money in your pocket from the taxman.

Yes i know it would be nice if you could do that......but they get it back as you will pay income tax on it :( oh and its fraud too apparantly.

ok, yous guys. computer was never of, different circuit. traced fault in about 45 mins to a section of socket circuit in garage which had outside lighting taken off via a 3A FCU.( 0.02 Meg.) .dissed the FCU. problem sorted. guess water in outside light, will investigate when there's no need for a wet suit.
