We installed an underfloor heating mat in a bathroom on a new build last week and before letting the tiler put his tiles over it I checked it with my ohm meter and got a reading of about 6ohms, tiliing finished so I went back today to fit stat and power on. Decided to check with my ohm meter again and just got an open circuit. Tried with my fluke T3 and got a buzz for continuity but nothing showing on the meter.

Connected it up and powered on....... 6 hours later no heat.

Is there any method of finding where the fault ls without removing the tiles?

I have checked on the back of the stat and it is getting a 230v feed and putting 230v to the mat with no effect.

If it is a mat the problem will be at the connection from the stat to the mat - tilers on price work - Know all about it!
I hope you got your first fix signed off
