Planning a new kitchen and trying to keep the chasing and rewiring to a minimum. What's the "norm" for switching under cupboard lights?

Not got the lights yet so can plan now and get it right! I was thinking fit an FCU off of the kitchen ring place high up under the wall cupboards then put the cupboard lights straight into that. Do the lights come with say an in-line switch? Aware that most of the wires, trannie etc gets screwed up under the wall cupboard and hidden by the pelmet. Any guidance appreciated. Thanks.

If you're planning a new kitchen I'd switch at the door with the main light switch, however if you choose this route I'd have the neutral at the switches too.

Plus I'd be asking the client if they are thinking of having kick lights too!

The ones I normally use (link lights) have switches built in, I still tend to wire a master switch for them at the main light switch though as I normally supply them off the D/S lighting circuit.

The "client" is the wife! Not planning on moving the existing light switches.

She's assembling all the units herself at the mo in the dining room. I'm doing jack! Then she's ditching the old units one by one and putting in the new ones sort of "loose". Says she has "a system"! I need to chase to extend the ring and explaining that it makes quite a bit of dust earlier her only comment was "But I've bleached everything!. The phrase I think is "AR$E ABOUT FACE!".
