Never done them before, no problems on wiring them.

But what the best way to wire them whist hiding cables etcc?

The spot type they want , and as normal the spot have the cable entry above the spot itself ( usually hidden by the cieling) , obviously this in kitchen units will be inside the unit itself ????

Are they surface mount or flush? If they are surface then i would run the cables down behind the unit cavity if it has one, then come in to the side of the light with the cable entry facing the wall if you understand what i mean. If they are flush then you have no option but to run the cables in the cupboards, and all you can do is keep them as tidy as poss and out of harms way, i have used duct tape before to do this.

Cheers....................Howard

Most kitchen cupboards are not flush with the wall behind and you can often drop cables down from above, thus "hiding" cables/transformers on top of the units.

Yeah , thats my fear , they want the the spots ( recessed) , don really wanna leave cable lying around, n niether do i want trunking everywhere.....:-(

Yeah , thas true, but whata bout the recessed spot into the unit, just trunk inside the unit out the back of it ? ( @ wall ?)

Just tell these clients not to be so bloody stupid!! So what are they going to do about the heat generated inside these kitchen units?? Certainly not going to be able to place anything plastic in them, or any food products!!

Must be that commonsense thing again, ...Total lack of it!! lol!!

Totally agree, think im gonna pursuade them to get them triangular ones that fit agains the back wall, :-D

:DGuys try LED, no heat output one end only to connect and no small lamps for your customer to change I know it costs but try also link above and below the unit with chased in wire all types covered then but its a ball ache for us all
good luck

or even flories would be better - the lamps in them rubbish fittings dont last 5 mins ! and they get damm hot ! - iv seen some scorch kitchen cabinets as there so hot, nearly causing a fire !

what about LED strip lighting
fitted LED strip under worktop in a job Joiner routed out a channel to fit the LED strip and a channel for the cableing end result FANTASTIC looking "Floating" worktop effect
