Hi, I'm presently building a new house. Im installing a water filled underfloor heating system. The system has 12 zones split into three manifolds, each zone has its own thermostat and actuator. I need to run cables before I put up plasterboard. Can anyone tell what type of cable I need and run from where to where?

Thanks in advance
Eric.

Realistically it's gonna depend on the system but you're most likely going to need to run threecore and earth throughout, linking all manifold control centres. They should individually open and close the zones as their stats call for heat but you'll also need a switchline back to the boiler, this will usually be a separate terminal within the panels.
Try to find out the manufacturer of the controls and ask them.

you would be best off runnin a 4 core to each stat unless you have picked your system and it says different..the newer digital stats need 4 cores the extra one being used fore a night saver mode..
this recently caught me out on a install.. the system wasnt fully decided on when i was first fixing. i thought a 3 core and earth would be enough as did the engineer.. my heart sank when the kit turned up..the fresh plaster had only dryed.. hammer time:rolleyes:
