L and N feed to contactor? Then feed from live to photocell. switchwire back to top of contactor. Then on the bottom have the feed out to the lights??? idiots guide would be appreciated as i have never wired a contactor before.

The guy said in spec he wants a seprate circuit for control and lights?? y? and how. Theres a few emergencies to.

Your contactor is probably 2, 3 or 4 pole, run your Live and Neutral through the L1 and L2 (first 2 poles) then to your lights, then from a seperate mcb run a control circuit to your sensor with a neutral looped to contactor terminal A2 and your sensor switch wire to terminal A1.
Your A1 and A2 terminals are the coil and when supplied with voltage will pull the contactor in to let the power through to the lights, just make sure you coil is 230v ac rated.

You will have to make sure that the permanent feed to the emergencies doesnt go through the contacter otherwise you will only be charging the emergency light batterys when the contactor is activated

Spot on i follow that. So how would i introduce another 1 or 2 lighting circuits onto the contactor?? Use the other remaining poles. say 3 and 4 so L3 and L4. I assume you need seperate poles for each circuit put can use the samecontrol circuit.
