Hi,

I use use uni strut a fair bit to mount panels and things at work

What im wondering, who things I'd be able to make a two car garage from uni strut? I've got few classics cars and planning on cutting them down to one, but want a nice big garage for it.

Im thinking to make a frame work from unistrut and then cladding it with probably think 12mm plywood.

Just a bit of random thinking as I want a budget garage, and I can get unistrut from work.

A double sectional garage works about about ÂŁ2500 without the base.

Or or is it not ideal for large things like that?

cheers Paul.

haha you could probably make it work with enough uni lol

i got a load of corrugated roofing sheets, you can have for free collect. bring a mask. it's asbestos.

I used unistrut to support racking in a lwb high roof sprinter once , I used the post supports bolted down on each side then linked them together horizontally just below the roof , and had ladders, steps and trunking on top, worked well and really strong , would have withstood a heavy side impact no problem , would make a good garage if its designed right ....

I don't see why it couldn't be done, you might need to make the wall panels stressed skin and make proper trusses to add structural strength.

Lol at a few replies.

Was as just wondering what people thought, it's quite a strong thing, with the right braces I think it could work, just interested to see what people, who probably used it more than me thought.

Thanks.
