Hi all, first poster here
thinking of joining up with a union to have a bit of back up from a dodgy gaffer. which are good ones for us sparkys?

Best place for the unions today is in the bin lol! on a serious note though i can understand the original concept of unions and the right to mass representation but.....the latest shenanigans from unions and there bellecose representitives are damaging this countrys chances of recovery so i would urge you to think about this carefully before joining one and dont forget, most union members are nothing but pawns these days in the union barons quest for power.....

i could point you in the direction of some other threads on here, there you will see passion, compassion and people who care what happens to others just like them.

My post wasn`t a dig at those who choose to join a union....far from it. But for a while now i have watched this great nation of ours being tugged back n forth with much eagerness. Union membership can be a way of achieving fairness in the workplace but can also cause friction between workers and management who are "looking over their shoulders" and consequently can be seen as a double edged sword so to speak. Workers should not feel threatened or intimidated by management etc....but managers/directors etc must also be allowed to manage/delegate.......

thats true, but your missing the point on the latest goings on..
