Hi guys.

Planning to remove my economy 7 heater in my bedroom (because it's crap, broken and not suitable.)
What I propose to do is switch the circuit over to the normal power supply, it's a single radial feeding that only. In doing this I want to put a timer on the new heating appliance so it can come on at all times of the day.
So I want this

But I want is an unswitched flex outlet with a built in timer. I have found this

http://www.sparksdirect.co.uk/energy-management-timers-thermostats-c-74_176_177.html?page=2&sort=20a

Would this be what I want? Does it seem that I could run the flex from the heater to the timer? Can't really see if it would work........

can;t see a problem as long as the timer can take the load. when you say "i have found this" i can't see a link or anytning

all you need is an immersion heater timer 13A, about £15 from any wholesaler or bodge and quick. go for the mechanical type, they don't break down like the digital ones.

But with those wouldn't it be a switched fused spur and a seperate timer that than goes out to a cable flex? I did think about that but for cosmetic reasons this one looked better with the same function.

Yeah that ll work. If you ve only got a 400W heater though I would look to downrate the breaker for that circuit to a 6A or even a 3A at the dist board, if possible , to provide accurate overcurrent protection. Alternatively Time guard do a digital timed switched fused spur (put a 3A or even 2A fuse in it) although digital and more to go wrong as Tel says

as long as it will take the load, no problem. assume it's fed with 2.5mm, fuse15A or breaker 16A. if heater is 400w, fuse at spur 5A. 1.5mm flex to heater

I doubt the terminals in those are suitable for 4mm, more likely designed for 1.5mm as they are limited to 16A. You could use the time switch to...
