Hi guys, new to the forum.
I qualified in 1988 with City & Guilds Electrical Installation Parts 1 & 2 15th Edition followed by both ONC & HNC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and then finally a BEng in Electronic & Computer Engineering, I became a Chartered Electrical Engineer (IEE) in 1999 but let it slip when I didn't keep up with the subs after I emigrated to Australia (I'm back now).
Having spent nearly 30 years on the Computer side of things I've now decided to again try my hand at being an electrician (I miss those day's), so I have a few questions if I may ask.
(1) What course or training would I need to update from the 15th edition to the latest 18th edition and roughly what would be the cost and length of course?
(2) I plan to specialize in the EV and Solar Panel installation sectors, would I need any additional training for these?
(3) Obviously it's too late to be Chartered again (IEE long gone I believe) without first reapplying and going through the whole application process, so what is the best professional organization to join, are they generally all the same?
Thanks.
