If changing a fuse board in a property and notice that there is one ring main circuit for downstairs including the kitchen, would it have to be changed so that the kitchen is on its own ring plus new circuits for kitchen appliances (fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer)
Or as it was done to the wiring regs at the time would it pass. Basically if upgrading a board does everything have to conform to the 17th? Or would you put a recommendation on the test certificate?

One ring final circuit for the whole of the ground floor is fully compliant with the 17th edition.

Why do you think you would need to change anything about this? Are you just trying to con people into having unnecessary work done?

Your job is connecting the board, this must be to current regulations (or exceed them).
The circuits that are being connected into the board need only be safe to connect they do not need to comply with current regulations (though if they do this is obviously a good thing, but not your responsibility).
There would be no requirement to split up circuits or such like.
